PKI certificate validation on servers and at the desktop
HID Global’s ActivID® Validation Client enables real-time validation of PKI certificates. It works with the ActivID Validation Authority, ActivID Validation Responder or any RFC compliant OCSP responder
The ActivID Validation Client is ideally suited toward enterprises and governments deploying PKI-based smart cards and smart tokens for secure remote access, and Windows domain login. It enables organizations to establish a high level of trust in a user’s identity, and offers a range of custom settings and tools for performance optimization, such as choosing among different responders by Certificate Authority, and specifying backup responders if primary responders are unavailable.
Large enterprise deployments are greatly simplified through the solution’s tools, including pre-configured installers distributed via Windows Group Policy.
ActivID Validation Client is available as:
ActivID Desktop Validation Client – for Windows desktops
ActivID Server Validation Extension (SerVE) – for Windows servers, with options for Microsoft Domain Controller, for Microsoft IIS Web Server and for Microsoft Exchange OWA.
The ActivID® Validation Client enables an organization to deploy PKI validation capability to Windows servers and desktop users. The solution supports:
Strong security:Large organizations can securely validate PKI credentials on all their Windows-based servers and desktops using the most advanced cryptographic standards.
Robustness:Includes capabilities for fully leveraging a distributed infrastructure, including backup OCSP responders to ensure PKI validation is always available when its needed.
Industry Standards:Fully compliant with industry OCSP and PKI standards, as defined in their respective RFC specifications and can work with either the ActivID Validation Authority solution or other compliant OCSP responders.
Integration:Integrates with the Microsoft Crypto API (CAPI) to work with the native PKI capabilities of Windows.
